Steps Required for License
Setting up gaming in Illinois
Once you location has obtained a liquor license, its time to start the process to securing your gaming license. Here are the steps required to secure gaming in your location. Truck stops do not need a liquor license to participate in gaming, but there are other requirements to qualify as a truck stop.
ESTABLISH TERMINAL USE AGREEMENT
Submitting an application with HyperActive Gaming as your Terminal Operator will establish our relationship early in the process and will allow us to navigate the IGB license requirements together.
APPLY FOR AN IGB LICENSE
- Confirm you are in a municipality that allows for video gaming;
- You must have an on-premise liquor license to be eligible as a licensed gaming location (truck stops excluded);
- Complete application process with IGB – THIS IS WHERE WE HELP!;
- Pay the $100 application fee to the IGB;
- Consent to extensive background check for you, co-owners and possibly management team. Any criminal record, convictions or questionable ownership of any of the owners can result in disqualification; and
- Be Honest! During application process, any answers that contain false statements or omitted information could result in denial of your application.
GET FINGER PRINTED
Following submission of your gaming application, it will be required for all owners and the video game manager to be fingerprinted. Without this step, the IGB wont process the application, so it is important to get these done quickly is important. We can help you find a certified location for fingerprinting.
IGB LOCATION INSPECTION
Following submission of your gaming application, it will be required for all owners and the video game manager to be fingerprinted. Without this step, the IGB wont process the application, so it is important to get these done quickly is important. We can help you find a certified location for fingerprinting.
GET APPROVED FOR IGB LICENSE
- After completed application and fingerprints have been submitted, the application process can take several months. Once application is approved, you will have to pay the $100 licensing fee;
- While the application is pending, we will help you review any additional licenses that are required by your municipality or county; and
- Municipality and County may charge additional fees and may require a separate application.
DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION OF GAMING EQUIPMENT
- Once licensed by IGB and your local government, it’s now time to get you’re your area set up. This will include up to 6 VGT’s (up to 10 VGT’s for a truck stop) and a redemption terminal with ATM capabilities that will dispense payouts; and
- The Terminal Operator will handle the VGT delivery process. Your location can be open even during equipment move in and set up.
GO LIVE
- Occurs approximately a week after the equipment is delivered;
- IGB agent will personally perform a “coin test” to make sure the machines function properly;
- HyperActive Gaming will have a Technician and Account Executive present for final performance checks; and then
- Customers can start to play!
